Chris Parkin To Do Charity Bike Ride
Pro Shore Director Chris Parkin is to cycle 70 miles in the name of charity a week on Saturday as he takes part in the Great Yorkshire Bike on the 21st June. Chris will be joined by Charlie Kirk from Jet Aire, who are our parent company and they will be pedalling in the annual bike ride to raise money for Martin House, a children’s Hospice in Wetherby.
The 70 mile route goes from Wetherby to Filey and the path takes you over the Howardian Hills and also incorporates the Yorkshire Wolds. It is a demanding course and Chris and Charlie will be extremely tired at the end. It is reported that 2000 cyclists are to tackle on the challenge and such is the difficulty, the ride is supported by professional back up and medical cars. The journey will take around 7 hours with stops for lunch, which is provided and drink stations during the day.
Martin House Hospice is a purpose built area for young people and their families. They support families across the Yorkshire region whose children have a life-limiting condition. Martin House is a totally free organisation that is funded by the support of partners and charity work.
